Position Title: Lead Senior Accountant
Reports To: Manager, Accounting

Position Summary
The lead Senior Accountant is an essential contributor to the Finance Department team, supporting the global and domestic entities of LanguageLine Solutions at our corporate headquarters in Monterey, CA. The Senior Accountant will be a lead team member within the company’s Finance Department and will be actively involved in the month end close process and other core accounting activities such as external audit support and financial internal control compliance.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for various P&L and Balance Sheet line items within established time frames.
Ensure accuracy, adequate support, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, and internal control standards.
Research technical accounting topics in relation to future plans of the Company, prepare memos as necessary.
Review complex monthly balance sheet reserve analysis to determine any necessary adjustments.
Assist the intercompany process to ensure transactions are recorded on all ledgers, invoices are issued and settled timely in accordance with intercompany agreements, and accounts are reconciled.
Analyze financial results against budget and prepare flux analysis for department managers as requested.
Maintain and support strong financial controls and procedures.
Work with various departments to develop process improvements and controls.
Assist non-finance departments and external consultants with accounting and reporting issues as they arise.
Assist in external audit related activities, including preparing audit support schedules timely and accurately.
Assist the accounting team with other financial close duties.
Support LLS’ Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division’s processes, procedures, and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this location. Compensation for this role is based on experience and location, in accordance with LanguageLine Solutions’ current salary range for this role. Monterey, CA Headquarters pay range is $90,000.00 USD - $100,000.00 USD.
The actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Active CPA License required.
Prefer combination of public (Big 4 firms) and private accounting experience.
8-10+ years in general accounting at a progressive level.
5+ years of managerial/supervisory experience.
In‐depth knowledge of GAAP.
Knowledge of IFRS a plus.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated ability to understand broad business and financial issues.
Must be able to think critically and recognize variances through analysis.
Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive efficiency.
Ability to prioritize and work proactively and independently in a team oriented fast‐paced and dynamic environment.
Team player with strong communication, customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Detail oriented, self‐motivated, and able to work in cross functional teams.
