Senior Accountant - Payroll

Job Description

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support in standing up a new Global Corporate Payroll Accounting team.Develop desktop procedures and policy memos related to Payroll accounting.Participate in Oracle design sessions and take and publish notes/key actions.Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations and participate in status update meetings.Uses financial data to prepare and record general ledger journal entries.Prepare all necessary account reconciliations and evaluate payroll postings to ensure they are accurate and recorded in appropriate accountsResearch period over period variances on the financial statements and provide logical explanations for fluctuations, and partner with FP&A to support close investigations/questionsAssists internal clients by providing information required to file tax returns, prepare insurance documentation and any other required information pertaining to the entity.Other related duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge of accounting and financial analysis processes.Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, practices, and procedure.Skill in analytical and statistical examination for complex problem solving.Ability to create spreadsheets and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software.Attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to prepare and record journal entries.Ability to understand financial information.Ability to work with entry-level and middle managers in analyzing financial situations.Provide support to junior staff members.Ability to handle stressful situations.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to meet deadlines.Ability to work in an organized manner and consistently follow-up on tasks.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Senior Accountant, your finger will be on the financial pulse of the entire organization. Collaborating with a diverse team, you will be responsible for recording general ledger journal entries, conducting account reconciliation, and various analyses of financial statements.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Knowledge of auditing processes and procedures as well as accounting principles, financial statements, practices and procedures.Working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably Oracle.Experience with Workday Payroll preferredSkilled in analytical and statistical examination.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.Experience with recording journal entries and working as part of a global teamInternal/external audit experience.4 + years of experienceCPA preferred.
