Senior Accounting Analyst
Job Title: Senior Accounting AnalystJob Description As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you will perform critical reviews, validations, and pre-checks over high-risk financial areas, including complex accounting entries, critical account analyses, and new control activities. You will be responsible for month-end closing activities for North American subsidiaries, reviewing submissions, performing analytical analysis, and troubleshooting reporting challenges. Additionally, you will support and lead business projects impacting accounting and financial reporting, collaborating with various units within the Finance Department. Responsibilities + Perform additional reviews, validations, and pre-checks over high-risk financial areas. + Conduct month-end closing activities for North American subsidiaries and review submissions. + Perform analytical analysis over operational results and troubleshoot reporting challenges. + Support and lead business projects impacting accounting and financial reporting. + Prepare reports and presentation materials to explain project status and effects on accounting activities. + Collaborate with various units within the Department and broader Finance Business Unit for issue resolution. + Lead or participate in projects impacting finance and accounting standardization activities, including automation and digital audit efforts. Essential Skills + Technical accounting knowledge including IFRS and US GAAP. + Experience with month-end and year-end closing activities. + Proficiency in SOX compliance and audit processes. + Advanced Excel skills. + CPA certification - highly preferred. + Minimum 8 years of accounting/financial reporting compliance experience. + Experience in public accounting and private industry, with at least 4 years in public accounting. + Managerial and project management experience. + Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + BA/BS degree with a major in Accounting. + Strong knowledge of automotive or consumer markets industry accounting - preferred. + Experience in multi-unit/parent-subsidiary organizational structure - preferred. + Experience in process and financial system automation. + Overall advanced computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Work Environment This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on-site each week. The start time is flexible between 9:00 am and 9:30 am. You will report to the Assistant Manager. The position offers opportunities for overtime and has the potential to extend or convert to a permanent role.
