We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in the retail industry. The senior accounting analyst will participate in the financial month-end close process, reconcile and analyze financial data, and prepare financial reports for various stakeholders as well as support the tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supports the month-end close process, including journal entries such as accruals, lease accounting, various sales provisions, impairment analyses.
· Prepares monthly account reconciliations
· Analyzes financial results comparing budget to actuals, and liaison with various departments to resolve discrepancies.
· Assists in the preparation of external US GAAP financial statements including consolidation.
· Prepares various financial reports for external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
· Participates in preparing financial analysis, reports and presentations for senior management and BOD.
· Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing detailed analysis and recommendations.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for various projects.
· Prepare and file monthly sales tax reports and other relevant withholding taxes.
· Compiling relevant information for income tax return compliance, and various ad-hoc governmental tax audits.
· Participate in financial statement audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules and relevant documentation; collaborating with external auditors
· Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
· Participates in ad-hoc requests, as needed.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification, preferred.
· Minimum of 4–5 years experience in the field; 2 years in the retail industry, preferred.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, advanced.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team-player
· Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and multitask; highly organized; proactive
· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
· Solid knowledge of US GAAP, preferred and/or IFRS.
· Good knowledge of sales tax and income tax regulations
· Bilingual (French and English); spoken and written
