Senior Accounting Analyst     


 

Position Summary:
With expert knowledge, performs and directs detailed analytical review of financial systems, data, and reporting. Develops and administers financial systems to meet needs of the organization. Constructs, processes, and manages assigned accounting functions/areas and associated workflows. Leads projects to implement process improvements and aid in decision making and forecasting financial outcomes.

 

Responsibilities:
•    Creates/obtains, systematizes, records, and reviews information within financial systems to enable complete and accurate data for reporting and analytics
•    Directs system financial processes and analytical reviews of systems, data, and reporting
•    Maintains consistent time management and organization mechanisms to ensure deadline adherence, workflow structure, documentation standards, and timely communications
•    Reviews and reconciles assigned accounts and data sets to verify that all transactions are recorded in a manner consistent with internal policy/procedures and GAAP standards
•    Collaborates with and leads finance and other organizational teams to accomplish regular functions, create process improvements, and aid in organizational initiatives and objectives
•    Provides detailed analytical review and guidance to budgetary analysts and departmental leaders
•    Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to forecast future revenues and expenses
•    Conducts and/or leads special inspections, projects, and reviews to analyze current processes/controls and aid in projects and initiatives to develop process improvements and financial control enhancements
•    Acts as a subject matter expert and team resource for accounting standards, concepts, practices, and procedures, as well as, organizational procedures and policies
•    Mentors team members to aid in personal and team development
•    Maintains a regular and predictable schedule ensuring accessibility for team needs and functional responsibilities
•    Performs other related duties as assigned
•    Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field 
•    Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
•    Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
•    Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

 

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree required; accounting major or equivalent accounting courses preferred
•    Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience required; 2 years’ experience must be in the healthcare industry
•    Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles required
•    Proficient in computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel) required

What to Expect after you transfer:

 

If you change your title or department, you will receive a new badge. Badges are printed and available in Security on the Wednesday of the week following your transfer. Your benefits may change if your position status (FT, PT, or PRN) has been updated. Please talk with your Recruiter if you have any questions about your status and benefits. Those with a primary position as a PRN will receive per diem pay. Per Diem rates are tiered depending on number of years of employment. If you are moving into a new role, HR will provide you with a new job description to review and sign. HR will also request documentation for any new requirements for your position, including experience, education, licensure, certification, etc. If EPIC training is required for your role and you have not completed the required module for your position, please complete an EPIC Fast Track Attestation at https://kh.org/epicfasttrack If an advanced background check with Health and Welfare is required for your role and you have not completed one previously, you will need to complete the process before your transfer date.
