Senior Accounting Analyst - Sox Compliance ESG

As the Senior Accounting Analyst – SOX Compliance and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), you’ll manage the company’s compliance with SOX 404 and 302 requirements. This includes partnering with various control owners, IT, internal audit and external audit to ensure proper application of the company’s internal controls framework. You’ll assist with the collection, validation and consolidation of ESG data, including the implementation of an internal control framework and disclosure of ESG-related information in SEC filings and other publicly available reports.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
For this role, you must be located within a drivable distance of our office in Richfield Minnesota.
What you’ll do
Develop and maintain the company’s SOX frameworkManage the quarterly SOX 404 representation process and consolidate open deficiencies for reporting to senior managementCoordinate the quarterly Section 302 management representation processMaintain and update SOX documentation in a central database and conduct SOX trainings when neededHelp draft and review 10K (or other SEC filings) sections related to ESG dataReview and validate information to be presented in other public-facing reports such as the Best Buy Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report
Basic qualifications1.5 years of accounting experienceAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Look-ups, etc)1 year of SOX experience (Financial Controls, Internal/External Audit)
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or related field3 years of experience in accounting, finance, economics, business or related fieldPublic accounting experience or experience in administering SOX in an enterprise organizationExperience applying internal control concepts and regulations, with an understanding of accounting processes and an ability to identify and address weaknesses in controlsGAAP accounting knowledgeStrong written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of Archer, Oracle, OneStream or other end-to-end reporting systemsCPA certification
