HDR is hiring a Senior Accounting Assistant for our Raleigh, NC office.

The Senior Accounting Assistant position supports the local operations Area Management, Accounting Manager and Project Accountants.

This position follows practices and procedures in accordance with HDR policies, HDR best practice processes, HDR accounting principles and federal government compliance standards.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Accounting Assistant, we'll count on you to:

Perform accounting functions to support our Project Accountants and Project Managers, Including:Perform Accounts Payable functions relative to HDR accounts payable procedures, including:Coding processing accounts payable and purchase requisitionsProcess on-demand check requestsProcess vendor invoices to the corporate finance and accounting groupReview and assist in processing Accounts Payable transactions for sub consultantsResearch and communicate release of subconsultant payments to corporate finance accounting groupManage and reconcile corporate credit card transactionsMonitor timesheet labor adjustments Accounts Payable/Expense report adjustmentsReview and answer questions as needed for employee expense reports relative to HDR travel business expense policy proceduresAssist Project Accountants and Project Managers with input and maintenance of projects’ data within our systemsDo routine work and follow detailed instructionsInvolve the use of computers to maintain financial records and accounting reportsPerform internal cost recovery functions for billable project charges of vehicles equipmentTrack employee temporary duty costsAssist multiple project accountants and other staff dailyPerform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in AccountingPreference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent A minimum of 5 years of experience Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented Ability to handle confidential information An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
