Description
We are offering a consulting opportunity for a Senior Accounting Manager to join our team in the East Bay. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and finance functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards in all aspects of accounting operations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for various stakeholders.
• Assist in budget preparation and grant financial reporting, working closely with the Director of Finance.
• Oversee the timely and accurate invoicing for state and federal contracts.
• Provide insights to leadership by improving financial reporting processes.
• Supervise accounts payable and ensure processing is done accurately and promptly.
• Manage payroll processing, ensuring compliance with laws and grant requirements.
• Lead the transition from processing payments in QuickBooks Online to Bills.com.
• Train the staff accountant on processes and accounting principles.
• Prepare for annual audits and funder financial reviews, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Stay up-to-date on nonprofit financial regulations and government grant compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors and finance team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated expertise in Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven track record in Auditing and Billing Functions
• Strong skills in Account Analysis and Accounting Management
• Experience in Audit - Financial and Compliance Audit
• Knowledge of Audit Workpapers and Audit Prep
• Familiarity with Budget Processes and Budget Administration
• Experience in Month End Close and preparing Monthly Statements
• Knowledge of US GAAP is required
• Experience using QuickBooks
• Experience in Grant Administration is a plus
• Familiarity with Compliance Functions
• Experience in Process Documentation
• Proficiency in using ADP for Payroll functions.
