Job Description
Key focus of the role:We are looking for a Senior Accounts Administrator to join the OMIA UT Banking team, specifically dealing with Old Mutual Unit Trust (OMUT) and Strategic Investment Services (SIS), within Old Mutual Investment Administrators (Pty) Ltd (OMIA). The team is responsible for maintaining the accounting records and related financial reporting for various funds. The Senior Accounts Administrator’s role is to ensure accuracy, validity and completeness of the funds’ accounting records and related reporting.
The team is also responsible for administering the bank and assets of various funds. The role is responsible for administration of the various funds, funds distribution and completion of reconciliations.
Role Description & Key Result Areas:
Management accounting services and systems:
Manages daily queries and communication with all third parties.Resolves technical problems in support of administrative queries/issues.Ensures process controls are standardised and effectively executed.Daily monitoring of bank accounts cash movement and resolve imbalances.Performs reconciliations and checks related to market instructions and resulting money movement.Prepare internal and external bank accounts’ manual payments daily.Maintains client relationships in accordance with legislation, FSB regulations and good accounting practice.Monitor, on a continuous basis, all transactions to ensure that unusual and suspicious transactions are reported to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).Assist with launching of new products, funds and systems.Ensures that all month end deadlines and SLA requirements are met.Assist with preparations of audit working papers.Perform month end distribution checks and loading of the files on internal and external applications.Expect to work outside Old Mutual core hours.Reporting, planning, analyse and data to management:
Provide month end reports to the Manco and Servicing team.Responsible for tax payments and reconciliations – WTI & DWT.Relationship building
Assist with building and maintaining a unified and sound team.Assist with building working relationships across lines of business and with 3rd parties to achieve service excellence and effective resolution of problems.Personal Effectiveness

Matric and tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance.Min 2 years’ experience in a similar role.Computer literacy – MS Office and Advanced Excel required.Working under pressure.Multi-tasking and strong attention to detail.Excellent teamwork and ability to create a positive culture.A self-starter that takes accountability and drives desired business outcomes.Excellent written and communication skills.Advantage – Bank Reconciliation, Reporting and Fund Distribution.Advantage – FinSwitch and SARS E-Filing.Competencies
