Senior Accounts Payable Manager - Amazon Subsidiaries
Description **NOTE: This role will support customers and team members in Central and Pacific time zones.** The Manager, Finance Operations is a hands-on-team leader that owns the delivery of order-to-cash (O2C) and procure-to-pay (P2P) transactional services to Amazon’s subsidiaries. Drives operational excellence and measurable business impact as an extension of subsidiary Finance and business teams. Aligns finance operations to subsidiary processes and systems while also leveraging Amazon’s scale and transactional expertise to reduce cost and deepen operational controllership. The successful candidate will have excellent program management, problem solving and communication skills. They will be effective at influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels, working directly with customers and their tools, processes, and mechanisms to address payment and billing issues. Will lead strategic discussions with Finance, operations, and business teams using unique subsidiary data and insights. Must have a passion for delighting customers and developing solutions to complex problems that deliver measurable results. Will thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment. Key job responsibilities -- Operate as an extension of the subsidiary Finance team, build partnerships with subsidiary Finance and business leaders by understanding unique business drivers and evolving operational requirements. -- Own the delivery of Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) operations for multiple subsidiary businesses with differing systems, procedures, and policies. Experience with inventory accounts payable processes preferred. -- Lead issue resolution including intake, escalation, and triage of vendor payments, disputes, and customer contacts. Follow-through to resolution, including executive-level communication. -- Measure and monitor service delivery to subsidiaries, partner with system and process owners to drive improvements in user experience, productivity and controllership. -- Identify root cause of transactional defects and work cross-functionally with upstream business, operations, and technology teams to implement solutions and preventive measures. -- Establish delivery targets and business objectives. Drive a roadmap of process and technical projects that support subsidiary goals while effectively advocating for lower cost, scalable service models. -- Recognize controllership gaps, implement solutions and mitigate interim and long-term operational risk. Support subsidiary in completing quarterly operational controls. -- Establish high standards for customer service and build effective mechanisms for driving accurate and timely service delivery to all customers, vendors, and employees. -- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders, establish a regular cadence of engagement with subsidiary leaders and critical partner teams including weekly and monthly business reviews. -- Support customers and team members in Central and Pacific time zones. Basic Qualifications - 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience - 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience - 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience - 3+ years of directly managing and leading a team of 5+ members experience Preferred Qualifications - 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience - 3+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience - MBA, or CPA Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
