We are currently seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team!
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to grow their career. The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with company policies and financial controls, assisting internal stakeholders, and supporting the monthly close process. The specialist will also oversee P-Card administration, manage AP functions in coordination with offshore teams, and support annual tax reporting requirements.

Required: Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (or equivalent experience) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of Yardi Payscan and Concur Travel and Expense is a plus Strong understanding of accounts payable functions and best practices Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Associates must have reliable means of transportation to consistently meet attendance and punctuality standards. This role does not require a valid driver’s license or personal vehicle unless specified in additional job requirementsWhat you'll be doing:
Review and approve invoices, ensuring data accuracy and proper documentation before processing payments Manage weekly check runs and disbursements, verifying accuracy and obtaining required signatures before mailing Process all wire/ACH payments in the accounting system, ensuring proper backup documentation is attached Oversee the upload and verification of ENGIE (utility) invoices and DSSI invoices to ensure accuracy before posting Review, analyze, and approve expense reports for accuracy and eligibility, in accordance with company Travel and Expense Policy, and coordinate timely reporting with Payroll for payment Administer the P-Card Program, including issuing and terminating cards, maintaining credit limits, managing Associate P-Card agreements, and addressing inquiries Assist community managers and operations staff by responding to accounts payable questions and resolving concerns efficiently Execute monthly closing tasks, reconciling AP transactions and preparing reports for the accounting department Manage the escheatment/unclaimed funds process, including preparing and sending communications, reissuing/voiding checks, tracking all activity, and maintaining documentation Complete the annual 1099 reporting process to ensure compliance with IRS regulations Coordinate accounting duties with the offshore accounts payable department to maintain workflow efficiency Perform other projects or related duties as assigned#LI-SR1
