Job SummaryPerform a variety of moderately complex accounting tasks; may also take a lead position, responsible for providing direction to lower-level accounting clerks
Job Responsibilities Perform a variety of moderately complex accounting tasks; may also take a lead position, responsible for providing direction to lower-level accounting clerks The lead may provide input but is not responsible for signing time sheets, performance appraisals, hiring or terminations May schedule and coordinate daily work schedules, distribute and verify work, train accounting clerks in procedures and solves operational problems Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Verify accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents Process and research invoices Examine and process returns and credits Analyze and assist in collections Enter data into accounting system and prepare reports Provide information as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stake holdersQualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent training with 4+ years of directly related experience A clear understanding of accounting and bookkeeping procedures is required
