ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Actuarial Analyst will support our growing national actuarial practice, initially reporting to the National Director of Underwriting and Actuarial Services. This role will primarily support regular reporting needs for our clients, including experience reporting, budget projections, and reserve setting.
As projects arise, the Senior Actuarial Analyst will be expected to do ad hoc analysis within our data warehouse or in excel in support of national initiatives or by request of our clients. This role may collaborate across other teams such as clinical, pharmacy, and development teams. The role may also work closing with regional financial teams as needs arise.

Review junior colleagues’ work on standard financial deliverablesComplete initial data analysis for complex standard reports and ad hoc projectsComplete client deliverables, meeting team and client expectations and deadlinesExecute projects, including: experience reports, budget projections, and reserve settingWork on ad hoc projects requiring data analysis within Excel and HUB’s data warehouseUpdate, build, and review tools and templatesGain understanding of strategic planning process, client service cycle, and how the financial team supports our clients through the cycleWork on special projects and continue to build technical skillsSupport junior analysts’ development through peer review and mentorshipIntent to pursue actuarial designationRole Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. Major in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, economics or business preferredSuccessful completion of 3 or more Actuarial exams3+ years of relevant work experience in employee benefits consulting or insurance carrier Self-funded client experience with exposure to budget setting and IBNRs preferredStrong technical skills demonstrated through Excel, VBA, Power Query, PowerBI, and/or SQLStrong critical thinking skills and ability to manipulate and analyze dataEffective written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated history of managing multiple projectsDetail-oriented, with strong organization and time-management skillsExperience leading client projects and delivering client presentationsComfortable in data warehouse, running standard and ad hoc reportsWillingness to learn and expand responsibilities within the teamObtain Life & Health Insurance license within first 3 months of employment with HUBJOIN OUR TEAM

Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado: The expected salary range for this position is $75K to $110K and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
