Role Summary:
This individual is responsible for assisting with the preparation, review, and submission of state rate filings. This role supports the development and implementation of best practices by working closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations, and providing accurate actuarial data and analysis.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide analytical support for rating plan development and rate filing submissions.Prepare detailed reports and working papers to support filing decisions and regulatory queries.Prepare and review state rate filing documentation and support the overall filing process.Coordinate with internal business units to gather necessary actuarial data and regulatory information.Research and interpret state-specific regulatory requirements and filing procedures.Assist in maintaining an up-to-date repository of regulatory guidelines and state filing practices.Collaborate with team members to develop best practices, standard operating procedures, and turnaround timelines for filings.Support efforts to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the rate filing process.Respond to inquiries from state insurance departments and regulatory bodies in a timely manner.Assist in preparing presentations and briefings for internal stakeholders on filing status and regulatory updates.Requirements:
4 Year Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experienceMinimum of 5 passed actuarial examsPossess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and proceduresExcellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacyExceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyKnowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environmentUnderstanding of state-specific regulatory environments and familiarity with filing systems (e.g., Florida I-Portal, SERFF) is a plus.Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
