Senior Actuarial Technician

Please Note: This is a hybrid role and will require three days in the office per week. You must reside within driving distance of our corporate office in Costa Mesa CA.

As a Senior Actuarial Technician, you will be part of a team that serves as Actuarial subject-matter-experts over our insurance products. This team is responsible for the rating accuracy in policy management software applications – through system development, testing, and documentation.

What You’ll Do:

You will work on quality assurance for the rating products through various testing phases, including but not limited to development, user-acceptance, regression, and post-implementation testing.

You will aid in the discovery, refinement, and resolution of system and rating issues.

You will provide Actuarial support by assisting cross-functional peers with rating inquiries and suspected system issues.

You will participate in the creation and maintenance of the rate books and ensure that they accurately reflect filed rates.

Complete ad hoc Actuarial projects as needed.

What You’ll Need:

To thrive in this role, you will be analytically minded, skilled in logic and critical thinking.

You will be an independent contributor, providing guidance to junior team members while taking projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision.

You must be adept at prioritizing multiple projects, documentation, demonstrating strong time-management skills, and adapting to changing circumstances as needed.

You will need advanced Microsoft Excel skills that may include sorting/filtering, formatting, look-up tables and nested functions. 

Two years of insurance industry experience in a function such as underwriting, claims, product development, or customer service preferred.

You will have a proficient understanding of the insurance product with a focus on rating, system, and rules for discounts and surcharge.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$76,400.00 - $101,900.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
