Senior Administrative Assistant, School of Nursing

The University of Virginia School of Nursing is searching for a Senior Administrative Assistant (SAA) to support operations both within the Dean’s Office and for the school’s Partner Development and Engagement area. Reporting to the school’s Chief of Staff, the SAA will execute core administrative functions in the Dean’s office including supporting the Dean’s calendar, coordinating Dean’s office meetings, arranging the Dean’s travel, and processing financial transactions on behalf of the Dean and Dean’s office. The SAA will provide similar administrative support to the Associate Dean for Partner Development and Engagement and will coordinate frontline operations within the Associate Dean’s broader team, including for the Director of Global Initiatives.

Candidates should be detail oriented, willing to learn and work within a range of software systems and have a strong commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities:

Provide advanced, administrative coordination to support office operations and special projects.

Arrange business travel, coordinate meetings, and support agenda management and expense tracking.

Compile data for preparation and editing for senior leaders.

Review and answer correspondence, screen callers and visitors, and handle confidential matters.

Manage electronic files and produce reports.

Serve as the point of contact for facility, equipment, or service calls.

Organize meetings and materials for special events.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or Equivalent

At least 4 years of related experience (Bachelor’s degree may substitute for years of experience)

The ability to evaluate and apply information and provide advice, strong working knowledge of administrative procedures, and the ability to analyze and present information

Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and experience maintaining confidential information

The ability to work independently or as part of multiple teams, and provide direct support to leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Administrative experience in a higher education or health care setting

Compensation:

The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $26 - $28 per hour. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:
