The University of Virginia Police Department (UPD) is looking for a Senior Administrative Assistant to join their exceptional team! In this pivotal role, you’ll provide top-notch support to key leaders, including the Deputy Chief of Police and the Assistant Chief of Police, ensuring the department operates smoothly and efficiently, all while contributing to the safety and well-being of the UVA community.
This dynamic position offers the opportunity to take initiative, establish office procedures, and work both independently and collaboratively. You'll also guide, train, and coordinate with other administrative staff and may supervise students and support personnel.

Minimum qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalentAt least 4 years of relevant experience (bachelor’s degree may substitute for years of experience)Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's DegreeAdministrative experience in a higher education or law enforcement settingThe successful candidate will effectively evaluate and apply information, provide advice, demonstrate strong administrative knowledge, and present information clearly. They will excel in oral and written communication, work independently or collaboratively, and support leaders with competence.
The anticipated hiring range: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Physical Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
