Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant for the Office of Academic Advising and Academic Services within the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS). The Senior Administrative Assistant serves as the frontline of communication both within the SAS Senior Office and greater Office of Advising and Academic Services (OAAS).
This position is a primary certifier for the three certification cycles and is responsible for the accuracy and timely notification of over 6,000 records per annum. They are the key respondent in the Senior Office email inbox for answering a high volume of student inquiries, degree progress and completion checks and assigning complex issues to the Senior Deans.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: Liaises across SAS Advising, university partners, and academic departments regarding administrative matters related to senior students. Serves as a subject matter expert on all matters related to major/minor changes and graduation year reclassifications. Prepares reports and analyzing data related to senior students. Provides professional confidential assistance to the Director for Senior Academic Advising, as well as other deans in the office. Provides research on issues as needed and as requested. Offers thorough explanations and support to students, faculty, and staff through various communication channels, including online platforms, phone, email, and in-person interactions. Engages in activities and events organized by the OAAS, as well as SAS-wide and contributing to broader university initiatives to enhance the academic experience.
