Customer Shared ServicesThe Senior Administrator, Trust Special Assets will be responsible for the administration, oversight, and risk management of unique and complex trust-held assets, including but not limited to closely held business interests, promissory notes, mineral interests, and intellectual property. The role will ensure these assets are managed in accordance with fiduciary obligations, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) regulations, and internal bank policies. This is an individual contributor role requiring deep expertise in special asset administration, valuation, compliance, and trust operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory & Fiduciary Compliance:
Ensure that all special asset management activities align with OCC regulations, fiduciary duties, and internal risk management policies.Maintain accurate and audit-ready records for all trust special assets, including appraisals, financial statements, lease agreements, and valuations.Work closely with compliance and legal teams to address regulatory inquiries, risk assessments, and reporting requirements.Monitor and assess risks associated with illiquid and hard-to-value assets, recommending appropriate strategies to mitigate exposure.Trust & Client Relationship Management:
Serve as a subject matter expert on trust special assets, providing guidance to trust officers, beneficiaries, and co-fiduciaries.Communicate complex asset-related matters to internal teams, clients, and external professionals in a clear and concise manner.Support estate and wealth planning strategies involving special assets, ensuring alignment with fiduciary obligations and beneficiary interests.Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent in and/or M.B.A. with a background in Business or Finance preferred.Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) or Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) profession designation.10+ years in financial services including 5-7 years practical experience in business valuation and closely held asset management.Prior experience managing all phases of the transaction process involving the sale of closely held assets.Preferred Skills & Attributes:

$100,000.00 - $185,500.00Pay Type:

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
