No If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary The Senior Admissions Advisor is responsible for coordinating admissions open house events and supporting daily visitation programming. This position is also responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, organization, and execution of the university’s Open House events. This position provides comprehensive support to daily visitation programming, ensuring prospective students and their families receive informative experiences during their campus visits. This position plays a crucial role in evaluating transfer student applications, contributing to the diverse student body, and enhancing the university’s recruitment efforts.

Experience Cortland dives deep into the region’s offerings Major Responsibilities Open House Programs Oversee planning, organization, and execution of university’s Open House events Coordinate with departments and stakeholders to create a comprehensive activity schedule Ensure smooth and engaging experience for prospective students, families, and guests Work on marketing and promotional efforts to attract attendees Manage event logistics including presentations, setup, staffing, and materials Collect feedback for continuous improvement of future events Showcase the university’s offerings and foster a positive impression among visitors Transfer Admissions Evaluate and make decisions on transfer student applications for admission Work closely with other administrative offices to facilitate transfer student matriculation Collaborate with Transfer Admissions Committee members to ensure fair and consistent evaluation standards Perform unofficial transfer credit evaluations Respond to and reach out to prospective students via phone, email and other communication platforms First-year Admissions Evaluate and make decisions on first-year student applications for admission. Collaborate with First-Year Admissions Committee members to ensure fair and consistent evaluation standards. Respond to and reach out to prospective students via phone, email and other communication platforms Social Media Marketing Create and curate engaging content on various social media platforms Promote Admissions Open House events Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing Enhance the university’s brand through social media presence Assist with, facilitate and monitor the daily chat software (currently Pure Chat) Software Management Leverage tools and functionalities to streamline admissions processes Manage applicant data effectively, which includes building queries and reports Track communication with prospective transfer students Coordinate all aspects of Open House events Student Visitation Program Assist in managing tour guides Support the coordination of daily visitation programs on and off campus Support the coordination of logistics for off-campus visits Collaborate closely with the Senior Admissions Advisor responsible for daily events Deliver group presentations and meet with prospective students and their families Recruitment Travel Events Represent SUNY Cortland at recruitment events, such as college fairs, school visits, and community events Engage with prospective students, parents, educators, and stakeholders Enhance the university’s reputation through networking opportunities
Functional and Supervisory Relationships Reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions that coordinates transfer admissions. Works closely with Admissions Office staff, Faculty, Advisement and Transition Office and other administrative offices.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in higher education or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales, marketing, communications or customer service Experience in reviewing admissions applications or similar such as scholarship application review, job application review, grant or fellowship application review A valid driver’s license
