No If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary The Senior Admissions Advisor – Regional Recruiter is an off-site position. The recruiter must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the targeted areas and will work from a professional home office space. This position requires travel within targeted areas of Long Island, the NYC Metro area, or Northern New Jersey.
The primary responsibilities include reviewing university applications, visiting high schools and colleges, and recruiting prospective students mainly in Long Island, the NYC Metro area, and New Jersey, as well as other targeted recruitment areas. This position will help carry out a full range of first-year and transfer admissions activities primarily within the assigned recruitment regions. Occasional weekend work and extended travel during the academic year are required. Additionally, the position requires travel to SUNY Cortland 4-8 times a year for on-campus events and staff meetings, as well as constant interaction via virtual videoconferencing. Major Responsibilities Recruitment Travel and Events• Represent SUNY Cortland at recruitment events, such as college fairs, school visits, and community events• Engage with prospective students, parents, educators, and stakeholders• Enhance the university’s reputation through networking opportunities• Coordinate prospective student bus trips to Cortland from the assigned region• Coordinate receptions and recruitment related programming in the assigned region• Build relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and alumni
Marketing/Communication Plan• Utilize social media accounts to promote events and initiatives• Create messaging tailored to various groups, including prospective students, counselors and parents• Design and execute targeted email campaigns to prospective students and influencers• Develop post-event follow-up communications and surveys
Transfer Admissions • Evaluate and make decisions on transfer student applications for admission• Work closely with other administrative offices to facilitate transfer student matriculation• Collaborate with Transfer Admissions Committee members to ensure fair and consistent evaluation standards• Perform unofficial transfer credit evaluations• Respond to and reach out to prospective students via phone, email and other communication platforms
First-year Admissions• Evaluate and make decisions on first-year student applications for admission• Collaborate with First-Year Admissions Committee members to ensure fair and consistent evaluation standards• Respond to and reach out to prospective students via phone, email and other communication platforms
