Sr Quality Engineer
**Job Description:**
**Senior Advanced Quality Engineers – Hand Tools**
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
+ Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing teams to translate customer needs into product requirements and specifications.
+ Support the product design process including test design, benchmarking, and testing of new materials and technology.
+ Specify and justify testing equipment and fixtures to support new material research and testing.
+ Develop and execute test procedures to validate product specifications and ensure Quality and Reliability readiness.
+ Independently develop, write, and analyze testing reports in internal laboratory.
+ Lead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) during the product development cycle.
+ Perform failure analysis and recommend solutions with corrective action, as required.
+ Proactively seek out quality improvements for new and existing products.
+ Work with the global quality teams to develop QC mitigation strategies for high-risk specifications.
+ Coordinate and lead quality planning activities such as auditing, inspection, and control plans (incoming, in-process and outgoing) that drives user need CtQ requirements through product specifications and into manufacturing processes.
+ Collaborate with US, European, and Asian based manufacturing, and supplier representatives to ensure operational readiness of new product launches.
+ Participate in the evaluation and selection of suppliers.
+ Lead global, cross functional team members with new product development engineering, internal/external operations/suppliers, quality, and supply chain teams. May manage team members.
+ Provide technical guidance to the supplier quality team in Asia.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
Master's or equivalent degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing/Production, Materials Engineering, or related engineering field, along with 2 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing/Production, Materials Engineering, or related engineering field, along with 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience must include:
+ Research and development with soft goods, plastics, or metals (textiles, foams, rubber, injection molded components, or films).
+ Manufacturing quality experience in a regulated product field.
+ Mechanical aptitude (Critical to Quality/Quality Function Deployment; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); Statistical Process Control (SPC); Design of Experiments (DOE); Control Plans; Risk Analysis through Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA); or metrology methods).
+ Statistical tools (MiniTab, Reliasoft, or JMP).
Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
