Job Description:
Epiq is hiring for a Senior Accounts Payable Analyst, ideally located in Kansas City but comfortable working in a remote/hybrid capacity. Reporting to the Director of Accounts Payable, the senior analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring business continuity and driving process improvements within our centralized Accounts Payable department. This position requires a professional who can work efficiently in an ERP environment, build strong relationships with vendors and internal departments, and be a leader on the team with innovative thinking and solid problem-solving skills.Specific Job Duties:Accounts Payable Transactions: Process a variety of accounts payable transactions, focusing on complex situations.Subject Matter Expert: Lead functional areas such as invoice processing, payment creation, and vendor setup.Issue Resolution: Research and resolve issues causing delays in invoice processing, including PO issues, system problems, and approval delays.Team Support: Serve as a backup to other Senior AP Analysts or AP Managers and provide direction and training to team members.Metrics and Reporting: Use SAP data to create metrics, analyze reports, and identify areas for improvement.Vendor Relations: Build strong relationships with critical vendors, escalate issues to leadership, and create monthly review metrics.AP Aging Review: Proactively review and resolve overpayments, duplicate invoices, and other processing issues.Month-End Close: Participate in month-end close activities as needed.Mentorship: Mentor and support other team members, displaying initiative and ownership.System Upgrades: Participate in system upgrades and testing of modifications.Position Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable or accounting experience.Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP software and strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze SAP reports, identify trends, and determine root causes of issues.Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and independent thinking.Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to solve problems independently.Communication: Professional verbal and written communication skills.Team Environment: Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and handle confidential information.This role is ideal for an energetic, attentive, and process-oriented professional who can prioritize, plan, and execute tasks quickly and accurately.
