We work within our given books of businesses to cultivate a dedicated cohort of invested sellers through intermittent meetings, relationship building, and strategic plans.

The Base Seller Acquisition team at Walmart Marketplace focuses on engaging and supporting inbound sellers who have applied to sell on the platform but have not yet been assigned an account representative. Our mission is to identify high-potential sellers, improve engagement, and ensure accurate handoffs to the appropriate service tiers (SMB, Mid-Market, Strategic) while optimizing the seller onboarding journey through proactive outreach, targeted campaigns, and data-driven strategies.

What you will do…

As a Base Seller Engagement & Development Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for engaging, educating, and activating Base sellers while optimizing the Registered, Not Launched (RNL) and Self-Service Registration-Assisted (SSRA) funnels. Your role will focus on improving seller data collection, accelerating onboarding timelines, and ensuring smooth transitions to the appropriate account management teams.

Seller Engagement & Activation

Develop and execute targeted engagement strategies to drive activation and early-stage seller participation.

Implement mass communication efforts (email campaigns, webinars, nurture sequences) in collaboration with the Centralized HubSpot team.

Leverage automation tools to reach sellers at different funnel stages and optimize engagement tactics based on seller responses.

Track seller engagement metrics and iterate strategies to improve conversion rates.

Registered, Not Launched (RNL) Optimization

Identify sellers delayed in the onboarding process and implement solutions to reduce time-to-launch.

Work cross-functionally to address common pain points in seller onboarding (e.g., Payment, Shipping, Item Setup).

Create category-specific onboarding experiences based on seller profiles and product types.

Self-Service Registration-Assisted (SSRA) Growth

Drive GMV growth by ensuring newly launched Base sellers receive the necessary resources and guidance.

Develop 1: many communication strategies to educate sellers on Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), pricing tools, and growth levers.

Work with the Centralized HubSpot team to enhance awareness and adoption of Walmart’s key programs.

Data Collection & Analysis

Enhance seller profiling through structured data collection and analytics to drive strategic decision-making.

Utilize dashboards and reporting tools to assess seller potential and inform prioritization for account management assignments.

Identify trends and bottlenecks in the Base seller onboarding process and recommend process improvements.

Handoff Optimization

Work cross-functionally with Sales Operations and Business Development teams to refine the criteria and workflows for seller handoff to the appropriate teams.

Ensure high accuracy in seller tier assignments based on catalog size, category, and business potential.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

Monitor seller activation rates and pipeline efficiency, implementing data-driven improvements.

Report key insights and recommendations to leadership to support decision-making on Base seller acquisition and retention strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in e-commerce: business development, sales operations, or a related field.

Experience with data analysis, CRM tools, and seller onboarding processes.

Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive strategic initiatives with measurable impact.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with data visualization tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Marketplace: Sales Development, or Seller Onboarding.

Experience working with seller engagement and outreach strategies.

Proven ability to optimize sales pipelines and enhance data-driven decision-making.

Familiarity with e-commerce seller segmentation and onboarding strategies
