We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Analyst to join our Investment Finance and Valuations team in Toronto.
In this role, you will be responsible for activities that support the valuation and analysis of OMERS infrastructure investments. Primary responsibilities include development of valuation models and reporting, asset and portfolio analytics and various other activities in support of both the Finance and Investment teams, as required.
To support these responsibilities, the successful candidate must have a growth mindset, and strong interpersonal skills coupled with experience in financial reporting and analysis and financial modeling.

As a member of the OMERS Investment Finance & Valuations Team, you will be responsible for:
Preparing infrastructure portfolio investment valuations on a quarterly basis, including the development of valuation models (e.g., discounted cash flow and comparable company) and drafting reporting
Identifying and understanding value drivers and investment risks across portfolio assets
Collecting market data using CapitalIQ and Bloomberg as well as performing other industry and market research to inform portfolio valuations
Liaising with Investment and Risk Teams to review past performance, strategy, outlook, regulatory and other relevant and emerging issues that impact the valuation of portfolio investments
Performing asset and/or portfolio level sensitivities to understand the valuation impact of changes in assumptions
Monitoring market events and analyzing the potential impact these events may have on portfolio asset valuations
Working with external auditors and independent valuators to support valuation conclusions
Assisting with other financial reporting valuation requirements such as impairment testing, purchase price allocations or other valuations disclosures
Providing ongoing assistance to the Finance Team, Investment Team, Risk team or other corporate functions, as required
Assisting with the preparation of internal and external financial reports prepared by the Finance Reporting Team, as required
Participating in other special projects, as required
To succeed in this role, you have:
Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline
2-3 years of relevant valuation experience
Chartered Business Valuation (CBV) and other professional designations such as the CPA or CFA designation, or enrollment in either program of studies, is an asset
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and the ability to work with complex financial models
Prior working experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx) is an asset
Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present findings in a concise and professional manner
Strong team player able to operate in a fast-paced environment under time-sensitive deadlines
Ability to build effective working relationships across the organization
