Function of the Position:

As part of the USG Business Development department, the Market Intelligence team works closely with Business Development leadership and the USG leadership team to inform strategic decision-making, including insights into the market, customers, and competitors. The team is responsible for strategic data and information, trend and scenario analysis, and other quantitative and qualitative products in support of annual strategic planning processes and other core business development functions. The Senior Analyst/Associate Specialist, under Principal Manager, supports the USG Market Intelligence team in conducting market and competitor monitoring, research, and analysis, capturing data, developing and maintaining internal resources and learning tools, and contributing to communications and outreach to the broader USG. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

    Collect, update, and maintain all important competitive intelligence information for existing and emerging competitors and market trends in MI’s internal databases.   ·         Take a lead role in individual research assignments and analysis, obtain information from internal and external sources, assess the quality and value of information, and report as needed.  ·         Analyze and interpret information to provide insights and predictions at a macro (corporate/industry) and micro (opportunity-specific) level.  ·         Develop graphical representations of data, presentations, and other visual aids to convey results.   ·         Work closely with Principal Manager to respond to research requests and insights to senior management, business development, and DAI’s sector and geographic-based teams as needed.   ·         Support the development of market analysis products for DAI’s annual strategic planning process.   ·         Participate in industry-wide events, and track relevant industry and donor news, to enhance MI and company understanding of broad market dynamics and trends.   ·         Develop and maintain working relationships with key internal customers.   ·         As needed, provide support to DAI capture or live proposal efforts.  

Minimum Qualifications

P3 Minimum of 2 years of professional experience and a college degree.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Solid understanding of the USG international development industry.  High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (in particular, advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills), including visualization of data into various graphs and charts, is essential.  Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative analytics.   Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to problem-solve and manage multiple projects under deadline constraints.  Customer focus, with demonstrated ability to network and build relationships effectively at all levels.   Ability to articulate with strong presentation skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Able to operate within a team environment, with the ability to work with minimum guidance.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

 Working knowledge of PowerBI

Compensation & Benefits

For regular positions (includes US-based LTTA)

For employees working in the United States, the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $63,704 to $69,325. Salary for part-time employees will be prorated based on actual hours worked. Actual offers will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Eligible U.S.-based employees will be able to enroll in medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k)-retirement plan with a company match. Additionally, employees will be eligible for company-paid annual leave (vacation & holidays), sick leave, and parental leave, as well as short- and long-term disability coverage. Detailed information will be provided at the time a formal offer is extended.

For employees working outside of the United States, compensation and benefits will vary based on location.
