American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payment card issuer for businesses in the United States and supports business owners and companies with products and services to help them run and grow their businesses. GCS Control Management (Specialized OR): The objective of the GCS Control Management Specialized Operational Risk (OR) team is to provide subject matter expertise on specific Operational Risk topics to ensure the BU is equipped with in-depth knowledge of risk-stripes to manage and mitigate these risks effectively; supports the BU with expert guidance for topical Operational Risk intelligence. GCS Control Management Specialized Operational Risk (OR) is looking for a Sr. Analyst focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies. **The [Sr. Analyst], GCS Control Management COE Specialized OR will:** + Assist in specific activities / tasks to gather relevant operational risk insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise + Program Management: Oversee the implementation, and maintenance of the global records management or other risk related program. + Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with SMEs e.g: Privacy Oversight stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the records management / risk program. + Evaluate current reporting to identify opportunities to drive automation, eliminate redundancies, and address reporting gaps. + Creation and Management of business-critical reporting capabilities against Compliance & Compliance metrics to support GCS leadership team. + Provide data trends and analytics to support other Control Management teams within GCS with insights/trend reporting on specific areas and early warning indicators. + Consistently deliver all key reporting packages to leadership at pre-defined frequencies, including themes and insights from sub-programs managed within GCS Control Management organization. + Partner with various teams to optimize alignment of best practices and understand / deliver on shared objectives. + Ensure timeliness and accuracy of data in various monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc dashboards published to Senior leadership teams within GCS and other teams within the Control Management. **Required Qualifications:** + Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in Data Analytics, Automation and Dashboard storytelling and / or operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) and understanding critical operational risk management lifecycle activities + Experience in financial services and risk management preferred. + Experience in ETL tools, programming languages like Python. + Project management, communication, and interpersonal skills + Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively Technical Skills: + Tableau Desktop, + Tableau Prep, Advanced Microsoft Excel skills + Hands on exposure to programming languages like Python, Power Automate will be beneficial. Functional Skills: + Self-Starter and work with a sense of ownership + Knowledge of risk management and key risk metrics. + Qualitative solutioning /Problem solving in complex & unstructured environment. + Ability to conduct comprehensive analysis and elevate key risk outcomes from the analysis. + Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data and understand complex processes with the goal to provide meaningful insights to inform business strategy. + Stakeholder Management. **Preferred Qualifications:** Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous Experience in at least one of the following: o Assisting in day-to-day activities to support compliance with enterprise policies and programs pertaining to specific risk types and supporting with design/enhancement of procedures/standards by providing topic-specific insight o Assisting in specific activities / tasks required to support advising on decentralized risk types into broader operational risk policies and programs ORMCM **Qualifications** We back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
