Job Title: Senior Analyst Fixed Income Manager Research
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Toronto office.

What the day will look like
Be a key member of our global fixed income manager research team covering global and regional mandates. This includes but is not limited to:
+ Providing insight on managers:
+ Acting as the primary point of contact for a selection of managers, and having the knowledge needed to be able to field any investment related questions with respect to those managers
+ Supporting other members of the fixed income research team as alternate researcher for a selection of managers
+ Creating and maintaining standard reports and be able to present confidently to consultants and clients on any topics relating to those managers
+ Helping clients find a solution to achieve their investment objectives, including but not limited to manager selection and manager structure
+ Working directly with Canadian client teams to provide clients including our OCIO investment team, fixed income solutions and recommendations.
+ Decision making ability:
+ Participating effectively at manager research meetings, analysing the findings and formulating manager ratings for specific products
+ Communicating and challenging team views on a range of investment products
+ Work closely with other members of the Aon’s Global Fixed Income team (in US, UK)

Our manager research team aims to identify investment strategies with the potential to perform well in the future and that can add value to our clients’ portfolios.
This role will primarily cover fixed income managers and investment strategies which includes Canadian and global fixed income as well as liability driven investments
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Qualifications:
Essential
+ Strong academic background with university degree
Preferred
Has obtained or is studying for a CFA or CAIA designation
Experience:
Essential
+ 7+ years of experience in investment industry preferably at an investment consultant or OCIO provider
+ Thorough understanding of the institutional investment industry and investment processes, ideally through direct experience
+ Knowledge of techniques used in credit analysis, security / fund selection and portfolio construction
+ Comprehensive understanding of investment risk metrics and their application in portfolio management
Preferred
+ Good knowledge of the key players (both individuals and firms) in the asset manager community
+ Liability Driven Investment knowledge specific to Canadian investors.
+ Good knowledge of the Canadian pension fund and E&F markets
+ Knowledge of and implementation ESG space
