Senior Analyst Sales & Operations Planning

Covia is looking for a dynamic SIOP Sr Analyst who will work with Industrial Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning and have a positive impact on the S&OP team at its Huntersville, NC location.  The SIOP Sr Analyst will report to the Manager, Industrial SIOP.  As a SIOP Sr Analyst you could be responsible for Demand and/or Supply planning across a large industrial commercial and operational portfolio. The position requires strong analytical skills, influence and communication skills, and the ability to develop and execute complex plans in support of business, customer, and manufacturing strategies.  The SIOP Manager will exhibit leadership skills and qualities and may lead a SIOP team as the Covia Industrial SIOP process grows. 

 

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:

Own, manage, refresh, and troubleshoot the statistical forecasting process and tools that have been developed for Covia. Own, manage, refresh, and troubleshoot all PowerBI visualizations used in the Demand and Supply planning process. Usher the Commercial Sales and Operational teams through the Demand and Supply Planning monthly processes utilizing the custom-built statistical forecasting and capacity planning tools and their results. Analyze and summarize the tool results and call out meaningful changes through your strong analytical skills. Work collaboratively with sales, FP&A, and operations to identify issues and apply corrective actions. Prepare regular Power Point decks for updating key stakeholders on Demand, Supply, and any other topics. These decks will be presented to front line Ops and Sales and up to the Executive level. Provide redundant backup to the various processes taking place in Industrial S&OP Create Ad Hoc analysis, conclusions, and actions to troubleshoot Provide report inputs or updates. Continually seek ways to improve information visibility and availability. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of key customers, markets, and products in area of responsibility. Identify any areas where S&OP would benefit the industrial business and layout a plan to incorporate those aspects more closely into the S&OP team moving forward. Identify, communicate, and escalate variances from plan. Manage and resolve variances and exceptions. Assist finance, accounting, transportation, operations, or the commercial team in any endeavors that would provide value to Covia Teach, mentor, and train other Covia coworkers to promote a One Team approach and continuously strive to keep learning in order to better yourself.

 

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Management Sciences, or related field required. 7+ years SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) and/or finance environments and 2+ years in a demand management role Proven leadership skills in previous roles with a focus on employee growth and maximizing human potential. Demonstrated analytical/planning capability. Constantly seeking data driven answers to enhance decision making at all levels of the organization.  Strong mathematical background. Microsoft applications (especially advanced Excel skills), IFS or other ERP system experience. Advanced Microsoft excel modeling and usage is critical. Proven ability to build scalable models using empirical manufacturing data and assumptions Excellent communication, both written and oral, along with strong organizational skills. Ability to synthesize different kinds of information to make informed decisions that will affect numerous stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership qualities including ability to drive improvements, make decisions, influence others, and seek consensus. Ability to work at operational/tactical level as well as contribute at strategic level/develop strategic vision. Self-starter showing strong initiative and demonstrated team player. The willingness to ask for help and seek it out when you’ve hit a situation you don’t have an answer to. The ability to move seamlessly between multiple large, complex projects and drive project completion with varied stakeholders.
