In the role of Senior Business Intelligence & Analytics Engineer, you will join a diverse, global team that invests in your customized career growth and uses technology and data to positively impact people’s lives.

The Senior Business Intelligence & Analytics Engineer is responsible to help build, automate, and maintain enterprise BI and analytic solutions. This is an opportunity to help design, build and implement business capabilities and partner with key stakeholders across the business to drive strategic impact. As a Senior BI & Analytics Engineer you are a problem solver and genuinely like helping others solve complex problems. We are specifically seeking a candidate with knowledge and experience of designing and operationalizing BI and analytic solutions for self-service. This role is a hybrid role, 3 days in, 2 days out per week in Lake County.

Responsibilities

Apply concepts related to BI solution delivery including database querying, data modeling, visual design concepts and code deployment to translate AbbVie business needs to design, build and deploy various Business Intelligence solutions.Work collaboratively with various business partners to assist in the design and implementation of analysis tools to answer business challengesDrive operational excellence for data ingestion, transformation and publication to ensure confidence in solutionsPartner with business units and technology to prioritize and define data and BI development needsWork with business partners in different teams to identify new BI capabilities and projectsAnalyze and visualize data to present the findings and opportunities, and output solid analysis report with recommendationsSync your activities and share your experience with a diverse teamDevelop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required in technical field preferred plus 8 year’s experience or Masters Degree plus 7 years experienceProven proficiency in SQL, DAX and Power Query M languageProven experience and knowledge with major BI reporting tools,  Power BI preferredExperience navigating in both relational (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) and non-relational (Hadoop) database/data lake environmentsDemonstrated proficiency across a wide range of data technologies, including data warehousing, data integration, data visualization and analysisProven experience partnering with key stakeholders in understanding business requirements to solve key strategic initiativesAbility to make recommendations for new metrics, strategies, and methods to improve measurement and data collection practicesExposure to AWS and Microsoft technologies such as Lambda, EC2, RDS, Athena, Fabric, Power Automate, etc.Enforces standard data architecture processes and proceduresFull life cycle methodology including change management processes and ensuring changes are properly tested and migrated to productionHighly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulnessAdapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environmentPossesses a high level of critical thinkingOperates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
