As an experienced Software Developer, you will be a key member of the team, contributing to the design and development of new features and enhancements that will be used by thousands of customers. Our team is small and fast moving so you should be as comfortable designing a new feature as you are writing and debugging code. You will work with a closely knit team of developers, analysts, designers, product managers and testers so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

 

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in backend development with an emphasis on data processing/storage and a complete understanding of web application architecture. Using the latest technologies means you must be willing to continuously learn new things.

 

In this role:

 Develop, test and maintain system functionality based on agile user storiesLeverage and maintain a modern, secure, serverless AWS cloud hosted platformTroubleshoot and debug issues that ariseMaintaining technical documentationStay current and utilize the latest development tools and best practices

 

What you will need to succeed:

 

5 to 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development workExperience with NodeJS, Java or similar programming languageFamiliarity with numerous AWS Services particularly database and serverless backend management within a cloud infrastructure.  Key services would include RDS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, Kinesis, API Gateway, Lambda and S3.Expertise with SQL databases.  Ability to optimize/fine-tune queries of large data sets.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and multitasking skillsCuriosity and a strong desire to learn and grow your technical skillsetAbility to think and act both strategically and tacticallyAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExperience with Datadog, AWS Cloudwatch, or similar application / infrastructure monitoring toolsExperience with GitHub, AWS CodePipeline, or similar CI/CD toolsExperience working on a cross functional Agile Scrum team

 

Nice to have:

Fullstack experience is a plusExperience with AWS Glue or similar data integration tools

What you can expect from us:

Base annual salary target: $120,000 - $135,000 (yes, we do have flexibility if needed)
