Senior Application Developer
UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Application Developer for a Hybrid position in New York, NY. The position requires 50% onsite work, with the remainder being remote or traveling as needed. Travel expenses are to be billed separately. Position: The Senior Application Developer will work closely with business units and IT development teams to implement Program Management Office (PMO) enhancements. The developer will focus on designing and developing web applications using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and other open-source technologies. This role requires hands-on development experience in full-stack development and working knowledge of DevOps technologies. SCOPE OF SERVICES: + Perform detailed application design, database design, coding, and unit/integration/performance testing with minimal supervision. + Review and provide feedback on application architecture, evaluate application stacks, and document business volume metrics. + Develop and integrate responsive design-based web applications using full stack Ruby on Rails and other Open-Source technologies. + Build and integrate Geographic Information System (GIS)-based services, RESTful and JSON APIs. + Perform configuration management, continuous integration, version control, unit, and performance testing with Open-Source tools such as GIT/GITHUB, RSpec, BlazeMeter, and Jira. + Utilize DevOps technology such as Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, and DataDog. + Refactor code for performance and security issues, and build secure web applications with user authentication and role-based access control. + Work closely with architects, senior developers, business analysts, and development teams for design, development, testing, and implementation. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: + Mandatory ITS Security Agreements and Fingerprint-based Background Check. + All contractors must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and schedule fingerprinting upon engagement initiation.
