POSITION QUALIFICATION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Application Developer (dev) will report to the Linde Gas Equipment (LGE) IT team and work daily with the Americas IT software and architecture team based in Tonawanda, NY. This business-centric IT team allows for business-focused software development of new, cutting edge, solutions as well as integrating overall global/regional IT initiatives into the business. In this role, the dev will be responsible for business unit software development activities and best practices. This includes contributing to or leading the development of business unit or region wide software focused on affordability, reusability, sustainability, and state-of-the art design. The role will function in a DevOps environment, being called upon to develop, maintain, and support applications that solve challenging business problems.

The Dev would be expected to work independently and/or in conjunction with appropriate business unit/IT leaders or cross-functional teams during any engagement. They would be tasked with understanding technological and business problems and focused on delivering cutting-edge solutions. The Dev must possess the ability to architect or integrate the appropriate solution from the ground up based on a set of business requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Work with business stakeholders IT team members to develop state of the art business solutions

· Learn the core business in order to anticipate the needs of your users

· Enhance, support, and maintain new and existing LGE applications

· Stay abreast of new technology developments and actively contribute ideas for new projects

· Be a well-rounded, full-stack developer who knows when to use the right tools for the each job

QUALIFICATIONS:

(Salary and Job Level Commensurate with Experience)

Basic

· BS in Comp Science or Engineering with a strong passion for technology and business

· 10 years of relevant work experience

· Excellent query and design experience in an RDBMS environment such as SQL Server or Oracle

· Experience with full stack web app development including css, html, and server-side components

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

· Must be able to interface with internal business partners, external vendors and customers from a variety of cultures and business backgrounds utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Experience developing with the .NET web dev stack (asp.net, webAPI, .net (core), MVC, etc)

· Experience developing Azure cloud applications using cloud native technologies such as functions, PaaS, etc

· Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)

· Ability to work independently and set aggressive personal goals

Preferred

· Experience developing mobile apps in a write-once deploy-anywhere approach such as Xamerin/MAUI

· Prior working experience using modern front end technologies like React/Vue/Angular.

· Experience transforming legacy code to modern cloud applications

Education

A Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
