Are you passionate about data and experienced in establishing processes that enable business decision-making? Q2 is seeking a Senior Application Developer – Data and Integrations to join our enterprise solutions data and architecture group. In this role, you will support and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as ensure optimal data integration and business process automation across cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate is a skilled data pipeline builder and integrator who enjoys working hands-on with complex datasets and data integration/IPaas tools. You will collaborate with stakeholders, system architects, and business owners to create and maintain seamless integration solutions while supporting ongoing projects and improving operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Integration and Process Improvement:
Design, build, and maintain interfaces between various systems, ensuring seamless data integration.
Identify and implement internal process improvements by automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
Support integration-related technical issues and assist with data infrastructure needs across teams.
Data Pipeline and Architecture Optimization:
Develop new application integrations and provide daily operational support for data flows.
Assemble large, complex datasets to meet functional business requirements.
Build the infrastructure needed for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work with stakeholders, including executive leadership, product, data, and design teams, to solve technical challenges and support business initiatives.
Collaborate with system owners and business experts to enhance the functionality of applications and systems.
Documentation and Analysis:
Perform data analysis on input, internal, and output message data.
Document solutions using flowcharts, diagrams, and code documentation for clarity and reproducibility.
Conduct root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to drive continuous improvement.
Experience & Knowledge:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in (relevant degree) and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience. Relevant experience in data and applications integration, including designing and implementing integration solutions, working with APIs, middleware, and data pipelines, as well as exposure to data management and architecture tools.
3-5 years of hands-on experience with SQL, SSIS, and database analysis tools.
2+ years of experience in data modeling and data mart development (familiarity with Kimball data warehouse methodologies).
Technical Expertise:
Proficient in integration patterns, middleware, and platforms like Workato, Mulesoft, Dell Boomi, Tibco, or Informatica Application Integration. We use Workato.
Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.
Experience in programming languages such as Python, Ruby or similar.
Strong understanding of APIs, integrating data using API’s.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools like Fivetran, Matillion, or Informatica.
Knowledge of data transformation tools like dbt or Coalesce is a plus.
Data Management Expertise:
Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and handling semi-structured data like JSON.
Understanding of data pipeline and workflow management tools like Airflow (a plus).
Experience with cloud storage solutions like AWS S3 or Azure Data Lake (a plus).
Soft Skills & Collaboration:
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to work across diverse teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with team members from entry-level to executive roles.
Must be self-directed, capable of working on complex projects with minimal guidance.
