Senior Application Engineer - Power Xpert

Eaton’s PCD Product Group is currently seeking a Senior Application Engineer - Power Xpert to join the team as part of the Western Sales Region. This is a hybrid role and can be based in one of the following locations: Phoenix, AZ; Los Angeles, CA; Sacramento, CA; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA.

 

What you’ll do:

This position will be responsible for the following functions for one or more of the product lines:
•    Effectively leverage and engage Eaton’s enterprise-wide resources to coordinate and grow sales of, power and energy meters, communication gateways, trip units, protective relays and Power Distribution and Monitoring and control solutions by driving specifications and solutions to Eaton’s benefit at specifying and procurement levels within the West Region.
•    Working to integrate Eaton protective relays, power meters, communication gateways, trip units and Power Distribution and monitoring control solutions into plans and request for proposals at end users and specifying consultants.  
 

The ideal candidate will have a technical or engineering background coupled with creativity and an innovative mindset.  The selected individual will be tasked with developing new product application solutions, providing technical support, and assisting the business development and marketing organization with the execution of a comprehensive growth expansion strategy in the West region.

 

Essential Functions Include: 
•    Facilitate the integration of Eaton specifications, products and services into targeted projects and end users guided by the strategic roadmap set by the PCD Connected Products group.
•    Work closely with the product lines to define opportunities, develop product requirements and specifications, and design a technical plan for commercialization. 
•    Utilize salesforce and other digital tools to understand, track, and report out on the west region sales pipeline for connected products portfolio.
•    Work with targeted customers to develop solutions and specifications that also meet Eaton’s value propositions.
•    Provide VOC feedback to the product line regarding product development and sales tools. 
•    Conduct training seminars with Sales Teams, Distributors, and end users in the West region.
•    Coordinate with local sale team and leaders to maximize effort in the West sales region.
•    Convert customer needs and/or requirements into engineering specifications.
•    Be the regional subject matter expert for connected products.  Understand, track, and report out on the codes and standards that affect the west region customer base, as it relates to the product portfolio.
 

Qualifications:

 

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited institution  Minimum 5 years of experience in application role or similar function.Must possess a valid driver's licenseNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Phoenix, AZ; Los Angeles, CA; Sacramento, CA; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA will be considered. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering MSEE or MBA Prior Industrial, Data Center, Commercial Construction experiencePrevious experience selling to distributors or end user customersPosition Criteria Demonstrate very strong written and verbal technical communication/presentations skills.Willing to travel to support customer engagement in the West region (25-50%)Possess sound technical problem-solving skills.Develop Customer RelationshipsAbility to quickly learn technology attributes and articulate value proposition. 

 

 

The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive.  This position has a target total compensation range of $122,906.25 to $180,262.50

 

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
