Your role as the leader of our Architecture practice in the Interior of British Columbia is to work independently and lead our Architecture staff and clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, award-winning designs.
You may choose to be based in either our Kamloops or Kelowna office. You will be required to be in the other office minimum of five working days per month. Stantec offers a flexible work environment (a hybrid model of working in the office and at home). This role is a minimum of 3 days in the office and would ideally include a Monday or Friday.
Your Key Responsibilities Leads business development activities, including maintaining existing client relationships, developing new client relationships, and leading the development of proposals. Directly supervises staff in our Kamloops and Kelowna offices. Acts as a mentor, teacher and coach to staff in our Kamloops and Kelowna offices with the goal of growing and guiding them through their careers. Participates in staff performance reviews including setting of job goals. Leads in identification, recruiting, and interviewing of staff at all levels. Evaluates the quality of design and design activities and assure a high level of design quality throughout our offices. Advocates and inspires creativity, critical thought and design excellence both internally and externally. Your Capabilities and Credentials Ability to engage in creative and critical thought. Provide a balanced approach and good judgement. To exhibit maturity and cultural awareness internally and externally. To lead project teams through all phases of a project. To inspire confidence, and garner trust and respect with the project team and with clients. To check work of the project team for accuracy and completeness and manage the project team to meet project budget and schedule. High knowledge of building codes, building construction systems, constructability and detailing, materials, and industry associated standards. Experience in construction administration phase including issuances of RFI’s, SI’s, CCN’s, Certificate of Payments, understanding of the Lien Act, and occupancy closeout. Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Revit. Working level for MS Project, Adobe Creative Suite and NewForma would be preferred. Education and Experience Degree in Architecture & Registered Architect. Minimum of 10 years of experience. Local or North American experience is an asset. LEED Green Associate or LEED AP welcomed but not essential.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
