Senior Architect
85000-95000 per year DOE. Ackerman-Estvold's pay range is an estimate, and compensation may fall outside the posted range depending on experience. | Fargo, ND, USA | Hourly | Full Time YOUR ROLE The Senior Architect is a senior role that is responsible for managing architecture projects, leading design and specification efforts, and completing projects from design through construction. The senior project architect serves as a client manager and relationship builder, while participating in business development efforts to develop new projects. SENIOR ARCHITECT RESPONSIBILITIES: + Take a leadership role in all phases of design: schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation, and construction administration. + Lead a design team for any given project. + Be a leader in business development efforts to advance project development and effectively cross-sell services in a growing market. + Manage client relationships at the social, technical, and contract level. + Make independent decisions on architectural problems and methods. + Learn skills to minimize risks and vulnerabilities and seek means to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. + Reviews and approves all work performed under his/her supervision. + Participate in internal quality assurance/quality control processes. + Supervises the preparation and checks the accuracy of contract documents. + Provide leadership and motivation to a team that is performing a sequence of tasks to meet milestones. + Assist with assembling design proposals and contracts, incorporating necessary scope and consultants for a financially successful project, in cooperation with the managing principal. + Manage financial and time performance metrics of projects. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: + You have a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture with North Dakota, South Dakota, and/or Minnesota registration, or the ability to obtain licensure upon employment, with at least 15 years of successful post-graduate design and consulting experience. Lesser experience may be considered for the right candidate. + You have strong technical skills and production experience using Revit (required); AutoCAD experience a plus. + You have technical skills to assemble and edit full project manuals. + You want to manage multiple projects of various types and scales at the same time with varying timelines and delivered successful projects on schedule. + You have outstanding time management skills and can prioritize various tasks and team resources throughout the course of projects to maintain reasonable workloads for the team. + You are eager to learn financial metrics for successful completion and performance of projects. + You go the extra mile to make sure projects are completed on time and on budget and are in the trenches with team members to facilitate progress on projects. + You have successfully worked in teams and have outstanding listening and communication skills. + You have or are eager to develop strong conceptual design and communication skills and have fluency in SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator. + You demonstrate a high degree of competence, capabilities, and architectural experience resulting from progressive responsibilities. + You have a strong working knowledge of building codes, zoning ordinances, and standards. A BIT MORE INFORMATION Location: This position is based in our Minot, ND office; however, occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may be required on an occasional basis. Salary: This is a full-time exempt position with a pay range is $68,000-$95,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
