1. Target architecture for own domain
Accountable for defining and communicating the reference and target architecture for the domain, in alignment with the wider architecture roadmap (business area, solution portfolio).
Accountable and responsible for identifying the critical architectural attributes including architecturally significant requirements, for the domain.
Responsible for contributing to definition of the wider architecture promoting systems approach.
Responsible for driving architecture studies, when needed, to arrive at the right architecture addressing the needs of stakeholders.
Responsible for identifying architecture improvement needs and opportunities, by following the performance of products and solutions, technology advancements etc., and ensure that the improvements are incorporated to architecture roadmaps.
Responsible for maintaining, updating and communicating architecture plans as things change and evolve, collaborating with various stakeholders to take the prevailing implementation constraints and business goals into consideration.
Actively contributes to major technology selection exercises from an architecture perspective
2. Implementation of desired architecture
Responsible for bringing architecture perspective to decision making and planning activities helping to deal with complex systems, organizations and lifecycle processes.
Responsible for guiding and advising implementation teams on detailed designs, verification and validation activities etc.
Responsible for influencing implementation activities, and where needed escalating architecture issues and deviations.
(Lead Architect) Contributes to partnering selections and decisions in terms of due diligence as well as subcontracting and sourcing.
3. Requirements management
(Lead Architect) Responsible for translating business requirements to system level technical requirements with the help of other stakeholders such as System engineers
Actively contributes to decomposition of system requirements to sub-system / Component / module level requirements with an aim to keep them aligned with target architecture.
4. Delivery and operations excellence
Provides technical leadership for finding solutions to acute major technical issues at hand, including possible major customer and delivery challenges.
(Lead Architect) Contributes, consults and if necessary, takes lead in finding technical solutions for acute business needs and opportunities, that require urgent attention.
5. (Lead Architect) Organizational and competence development
Contributes to planning and optimizing technical processes and ways of working with focus on own domain, in collaboration with senior managers.
Develops and promotes technical and architectural skills, and architectural understanding among different functions including development teams and product management teams.
