Key Responsibilities: Help United’s Ancillary Products team deliver new APIs by architecting and helping build an API platform where development teams can publish technical productsDefine standards and best practices for new APIs and consult with application teams as they deploy functionality to the new API platformUse your expertise in cloud technologies and developer experience to design tools that make our developers more productive and help them comply with our standardsProvide thought leadership and facilitate the development of architecture and development strategies in the ancillary technology areaUse your knowledge of the current state of tools and technologies at United to identify risks and recommend solutions for our development teamsAnticipate future technology requirements and use your hands-on experience to identify winning strategiesCoordinate with development teams and provide guidance on developer concernsBuild relationships with senior leadershipUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, math, engineering, or a related degree5+ years applicable experience in software development, DevOps, or software architectureExperience in leading technical staff or coordinating work across multiple technology teamsExperience designing or working with APIs and messaging applicationsExperience writing software in at least one object-oriented languageExperience designing and deploying Dockerized applications in a cloud environmentAWS cloud services including ECS, EKS, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, or similar offerings from a different cloud providerExperience in common architecture frameworks such as Microservices, REST APIs management including Authentication & authorizationMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, BusinessExpertise in design and implementation of complex IT solutionsTechnical knowledge in area of expertiseAwareness of industry best practices and research
