Job Description:

This role is responsible for ensuring the implementation and adherence to all L3Harris corporate policies, particularly in protecting the company’s intellectual property. The ideal candidate will bring mid-level expertise in Industrial Security, specifically as an ACPSO/ACSSO, and will play a key role in assisting the Industrial Security Team with developing, strategizing, and reviewing security policies and procedures. These efforts will align with DoD security requirements, including NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), JSIG, and DoDM 5205.07v1-4. This position supports security operations for the Strategic and Tactical Missions Divisions, primarily based in Palm Bay, FL.


As an Industrial Security Specialist, you will manage and support all aspects of Industrial Security for large programs, which include SCIF operations, personnel security, program support, physical security, information security, document control, badging, and access control. Your role will involve implementing national security directives, with a particular focus on NISPOM, ICDs, and JAFAN requirements. The position requires a high level of dedication to security operational excellence and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team of security professionals. You will interact regularly with internal stakeholders, external customers, and Government security officials as part of your duties.


The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Industrial Security, particularly within SCI and/or SAP environments, and a strong work ethic that demonstrates pride and ownership in their contributions. Working closely with the Industrial Security Manager, you will execute security strategies that support both business objectives and customer needs. The role demands flexibility, a proactive approach, and a commitment to maintaining the highest security standards in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Essential Functions:

Join a collaborative team dedicated to supporting stakeholders and customers, leveraging your expertise as an Industrial Security Specialist or ACPSO/ACSSO.Hit the ground running with new tasks, using your professional judgment to develop effective strategies for task success.Work alongside a team of Industrial Security professionals to contribute to the overall success of the Security program.Collaborate with colleagues to drive necessary changes in practices, processes, and security approaches.Assist in maintaining continuity books and procedures for multiple security functions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.Contribute to implementing process, system, or product improvements within the Industrial Security team.Partner with the team to develop new products, improve processes, and create necessary security administration documentation.Support complex, high-priority project initiatives and communicate directly with your manager as needed.Assist in preparing monthly program review charts and contribute to generating and presenting briefing materials.Support security pre-screening for potential employees, subcontractors, and consultants.Help initiate, maintain, and terminate personnel security clearances, including SF86 and eQIP processing in DISS.Assist the personnel security team by reviewing security paperwork for accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.Contribute to creating and presenting security-related briefings and documentation, including employee briefings.Serve as a facilities liaison for restricted areas, issuing and tracking access badges across multiple locations.Support the Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA) program, ensuring staff are well-informed on security protocols.Assist in analyzing and investigating security incidents or violations and preparing reports for internal and external customers.Help prepare and maintain Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs) in line with customer guidelines.Maintain document control, personnel records, briefings, contracts, and other security assets within SIMS to ensure accountability.Assist with the handling of incoming and outgoing classified materials, destruction procedures, and the management of accountable items such as keys and equipment.Occasionally support classified courier duties, requiring SCI clearances.Assist in preparing for and participating in DCSA and Customer Security Assessments.Demonstrate a solid understanding of DD-254 security requirements and clauses.Assist with physical security duties, including managing access control systems, alarm access, and secure area modifications or buildouts.Adhere to L3Harris corporate policies on intellectual property protection, PII protection, Insider Threat, and other related guidelines.Willingness to travel as needed to support customer requirements.

Qualifications:

Active Top-Secret clearance with current in-scope eligibility and a recent SSBI date is required.In-scope (within the past 2-3 years) CI Polygraph clearance is necessary, and the candidate must be willing to take and successfully pass an Extended Scope Polygraph.Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.CDSE FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities certification is a must.Preferred: CSSO certification or experience in a CSSO role.

Must have an in-scope Extended Scope Polygraph.Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of collaborating within multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic teams.Demonstrated commitment to security operations, with a strong work ethic and a focus on achieving high levels of accuracy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.Capable of taking initiative and completing tasks independently or as part of a team in high-pressure situations.Solid understanding of Industrial Security administration functions.Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) required.Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of the field, typically gained through advanced education and hands-on experience, with expertise in project management.Deep working knowledge of NISPOM security requirements and DCSA Information Systems (such as NISS and DISS).Expertise in Insider Threat Program (ITP) planning, including implementation of CI incident response strategies.Experience participating in Insider Threat Working Groups, collaborating with SMO and other stakeholders to maintain Insider Threat compliance at the site level.Proven experience implementing and managing access control systems, such as SIMS, with a focus on centralized management.Experience leading or managing Security Vulnerability Assessments, resulting in excellent or superior ratings.Skilled in developing security response statements for security-related RFP sections.Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
