About the Marketing and Communications Team
The Marketing and Communications team (MarComms) strengthens Ceres’ brand and position as a leading nonprofit advocacy organization with global influence and reach. Through a range of effective paid, earned, shared, and organic media and marketing strategies across digital platforms and convenings, this team brings increased understanding and awareness around solutions that will accelerate global efforts to build a cleaner, more just, and sustainable future.
About the Role
The Senior Associate, Marketing and Communications, Website Management is an innovative, detail-oriented web administrator that helps build Ceres’ brand and markets the organization on the digital stage. The Senior Associate is part of the cross-cutting Marketing and Communications team helping Ceres develop and maintain its suite of websites and partner websites, improve user experience and design, and inform web and digital strategy decisions with curated data analysis.
We are looking for a creative professional who isn’t afraid of bold and innovative ideas and is passionate about using data and metrics to inform and drive digital marketing strategies and tactics. This person will work across the organization to effectively communicate our work and impact across various issues and sectors, build our online presence, increase brand recognition, and attract new interest and support for Ceres’ mission with a digital audience.
This is a full-time remote position reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications.
Specific duties include but are not limited to: Overall responsible for updating and maintenance of Ceres website properties including ceres.org, freedomtoinvest.org, climateaction100.org. Ensure website is consistent with Ceres visual brand and messaging guidelines and work to update with current web standards and guidelines. Ensure websites and all connections, forms, videos, and other functions are working correctly and that websites meet digital accessibility standards. Serve as first point of contact if website goes down and ensure that it is back online in a timely manner. Responsible for purchasing, renewing, expiring, and managing all domains. Working across teams and the organization to proactively update website content on a regular basis. Regularly proofread website content before publishing new pages to catch grammatical errors, typos, and other copy issues. Work with events and development teams to create and update registration websites for Ceres’ signature events and webinars. Work with web developers, editorial, and marketing to manage and execute new website projects, including new campaign websites, landing pages, sections, reports, benchmarks and tools, including the annual Climate Action 100+ benchmark. Compile website digital metrics quarterly and work with marketing team to analyze stats and trends to help inform and adjust digital and website strategies. Work with marketing team to increase website traffic and conversions, ensuring that website, lightboxes, banners, and other marketing tools are coordinated with paid and organic marketing activities. Work closely with the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications to develop website and other digital strategies to build brand awareness, grow our website audience, and engage followers and visitors more deeply. Other duties, including administrative tasks, as assigned by the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience required. Minimum of three (3) years of full-time relevant work experience required. Prior experience managing, updating and maintaining websites required. Working knowledge of HTML, required. Experience working with and migrating large sets of data, preferred. Experience using content management systems, such as WordPress, Drupal, etc. preferred. Prior experience with data analysis platforms, like Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Sprout Social, etc. preferred. Ability to translate highly technical things to a non-technical staff. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Comfortable working with different personalities. Desire to work in a mission-driven / nonprofit environment. Marketing/Branding experience a plus. Strong sense of design and knowledge of design platforms like Canva a plus. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce. Effective presentation style as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Interest in being part of a diverse workforce and advocacy-focused not-for-profit organization coupled with a desire to support Ceres' commitment to Inclusion & Equity. The hiring salary is $58,735 - $62,000 with competitive benefits.
