Senior Associate
Job Description

I am working with a dynamic Accounting firm in Bromsgrove who are looking for a Senior Associate to work in their Business Management team. The key responsibilities are :

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting on the management of a small portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for ensuring their bookkeeping, management reporting, statutory accounts and any ad-hoc tasks are prepared to a high standard and on a timely basisPreparation of management accounts and reportsPreparation of statutory financial statementsWorking with the client managers to understand the client's requirements and identifying areas where more detailed advice may be requiredIdentify opportunities for any additional services that clients may need and liaise with subject specialistsSupporting junior members of staff with their role, especially with more complex compliance requirementsReview of work completed by junior members of staff, including but not limited to bookkeeping, management reporting, statutory accounts, VAT returns etc.Preparation of billing proposalsInvolvement reviewing contracts, withholding and cross-border tax issuesLiaising with suppliers, agents and other client contacts


Attributes, Requirements, Skills:

Minimum of 3-5 years experience in preparing statutory financial statements (FRS 105, FRS 102 1a and FRS 102)ICAEW/ ACCA (or equivalent) qualified or qualified by experienceCommitted to maintaining technical knowledge to a high levelCompetent using MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and ExcelCompetent using Xero and accounting software such as Iris or similarSelf-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenariosGood people and communication skills (including telephone manner)Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focusAbility to work within a team and to be able to complete tasks independently with little assistanceDemonstrates excellent analytical and research skillsCashflow forecasting, tax management and budgetary control experience preferableSales invoicing and credit control experience preferableExposure to billing and understanding of commercially
