Senior Associate - CSG Corporate Mortgage Finance Operations

Job Description Summary: 

As a CMF Operations Senior Associate – CSG Corporate Mortgage Finance, you will be responsible for providing outstanding service and executing the day-to-day operational functions for Mortgage Servicing Assets (MSA) and mortgage warehouse loans while ensuring compliance with the Policies and Procedures of Huntington’s Corporate Mortgage Finance Group (CMFG). 

The CMF Operations Senior Associate requires 3 – 5 years of mortgage operational experience preferably within corporate mortgage finance; proven communication and collaboration skills and excellent organizational skills.

This position reports to the CMF Head of Operational Strategy and Execution.

In this role, as a Operations Senior Associate, you will be performing the following responsibilities:

Operational Execution: Acts and makes decisions on MSR and mortgage warehouse transactions and exception requests within authority assigned by manager and in accordance with CMF operations procedures:  Ensures all day-to-day transactions, activities and processes are completed timely and accurately to ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are metChecks and reconciles information and documentation to ensure accuracy and completenessMonitors and approves transaction requests (i.e., fundings and additional draw requests), monthly waterfalls, settlements, and collateral requestsReviews and approves participation and syndication transactions and directs and ensures Commercial Operations completes transactions accurately and timelyIdentifies and analyzes issues and problems, and resolves discrepancies in a timely manner, escalating when appropriate for situationEvaluates transactions requiring exceptions and engages senior management for resolution where requiredPerform reconciliations of loans activity to general ledger and DDA accountsResearch and compile data for management and surveillance reportingContributes to development and writing of policies and proceduresMay mentor and assist in training less experienced colleagues; participates in projects as assignedOnboarding:  Takes initiative to facilitate client onboarding in conjunction with Commercial Services, Commercial Operations and in warehouse systemOversight: Assists with overseeing vendor relationships and performance of internal and external operations servicing CMF accounts.   Responsible for ensuring acceptable levels of quality and service consistent with Bank and CMF policies, procedures, and guidelines as evidenced by satisfactory loan reviews and audits of work performed.Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, management, internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, collaboration and problem solving.Reporting and Compliance: Prepare portfolio reports highlighting operational performance of clients, and compliance with internal policies.   Additionally, prepare ad hoc portfolio reporting as needed.

Preferred Experience:

Operational execution experience ideally within the mortgage warehouse finance industry or other specialty finance areasBachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

Basic Qualifications:

Proficient written and verbal communication skillsMinimum 3 years of relevant mortgage operations experience preferably in a fast-paced environment Additional experience may be an acceptable alternative to a completed bachelor’s degree
