Senior Associate - Hotels & Hospitality

Key Purpose

Together with the Project Lead, the primary responsibilities of the role are:

Reporting

Lead the management reporting function across our full client portfolio of hotels, working with locally and remotely based analysts.Liaison and coordination with the Hotel Asset Management team Lead the compiling of reports/templates and benchmark analysis of weekly, monthly and quarterly operating performance, including P&Ls, cashflow statements, modelling, strategic asset plans, budgets, and as requested by leadership.Maximize JLL’s Technology Tools to produce regular reporting.Work closely with the Hotels Asset Management Team to support any additional reporting for Owner(s) or as required by the wider JLL HHG Team.

Database / Research

Review, benchmark and analyze hotel-and portfolio-level financial data and keep informed of the dynamics of each market area to develop a strong understanding of the hotels and their respective markets.Update and maintain databases of assets that are managed by the Japan Market HHG Asset Management team. Assist in market research, data collection and analysis of performance.Monitoring of news sources to find and save articles on travel trendsResearch local government websites to obtain updates on projects, events, travel, subsidy, employment status.Travel to the properties across Japan as needed to inspect the facilities, meet with the management team(s) and tour the market areas and competitive set of hotels.

Knowledge

Demonstrated knowledge of work-flow processes.Knowledge of professional standards and expectations in an office environment.Practical knowledge of Hotel operating environments and service standards.Knowledge of Real Estate Asset Management.Prior experience in meeting individual and team KPIs.

Skills

Demonstrated time management skills, with proven ability to deliver results within deadline.Demonstrated customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external clients.

Abilities

Ability to manage own time and workflow effectively to meet/exceed turn around times and deadlines.Ability to deal with challenging KPIs and factors outside own control.Ability to work within a busy ‘open plan’ office environment, and continue to focus on work despite interruptions.Ability to work with attention to detail and high degree of accuracyAbility to respond to urgent requests in a calm and professional manner.Ability to work with Team Leader to improve efficiency of individual and team work processes and approaches.

Qualifications and Skills

Tertiary qualifications in Real Estate, Hotel Management, Finance or a property related discipline.Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Outlook, MS Windows and Internet.Fluent in Japanese and (at least) conversational English.3+ years working experience in hospitality operations or asset management.Strong academic credentials with a coursework emphasis on finance, real estate, or related subjects (or demonstrated work experience)Ability to multitask, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlinesSelf-motivated individual who can work independentlyExcellent numerical and research skillsStrategic thinker with strong critical thinking skillsDetail-oriented, with excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work with others to achieve a common goal.Good analytical and financial analysis skills, as well as comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations.Team player, organized, and strong communication skills.Comfortable working independently and as part of a diverse teamMust be willing to travel as required by the business
