Senior Associate of Transformation, Investigator Payment Management (IPM)
**General Description:** The Senior Associate of Transformation in Investigator Payment Management (IPM) is responsible for supporting transformation initiatives within the Clinical Business Operations department. This role combines technical expertise in data engineering and process improvement with a strong understanding of clinical trial finance, including site payments, site contracts, and budget forecasting. The position will work closely with the Senior Manager to implement technical solutions, analyze data, and optimize processes related to investigator payments and clinical trial operations. **Experience requirements:** + Solid understanding of data engineering principles and practices. + Experience in implementing automation projects, particularly using Python. + Proficiency in data analysis and database management. + Familiarity with clinical trial processes, site payments, and site contracts. + Experience with process mapping and optimization techniques. + Knowledge of clinical site budget development and investigator grants budget forecasting. + Familiarity with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and financial modules. **Essential Functions of the job:** + Design and implement data pipelines to support transformation initiatives in investigator payment management and clinical operations. + Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data quality and accessibility across systems. + Analyze complex data sets to derive insights and support data-driven decision making in clinical trial finance. + Create and implement automated solutions to improve efficiency in clinical payment processes. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement in the clinical budgeting and payment lifecycle. + Assist in the development and optimization of clinical site budgets, ensuring alignment with study protocols and industry standards. + Support the creation and maintenance of investigator grants budget forecasting models. + Analyze financial data related to clinical trial payments to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. + Contribute to the design and implementation of dashboards and reporting tools for monitoring key financial and operational performance indicators. + Assist in the development and maintenance of data models and databases to support clinical operations and financial processes. + Support the integration of financial data across various systems to improve accuracy and accessibility. + Conduct analysis on Cost Per Patient (CPP) data and assist in maintaining the CPP library. + Support the evaluation and review of internal benchmark data to validate data integrity for stakeholder consumption. + Assist in preparing financial reports, budget templates, and analysis for senior leadership and external stakeholders. + Contribute to documentation of new processes, systems, and technical solutions. + Support change management efforts by creating training materials and conducting knowledge transfer sessions on both technical and financial aspects. + Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in clinical trial finance and data management. + Provide recommendations for potential applications and improvements in the organization. + Conduct user research and usability testing for new tools and processes related to investigator payments and budgeting. **Computer Skills:** Advanced knowledge of: + Python programming language + SQL and database management systems + Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) + ETL tools and processes + Version control systems (e.g., Git) + Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) + Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) + Collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint) + Familiarity with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) **Other Qualifications:** Fluent in written and verbal English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including relationship building and management skills. Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills, root cause analysis, attention to detail, and performance of duties. Prior experience in clinical operations, finance, or clinical pricing and/or payment position. Demonstrated experience using Grants Manager, Grant Plan or other equivalent Fair Market Value industry systems. Ability to meet critical timelines for budget development cycle-time.
