The Mission: As a Senior Attorney in EAU, you’ll have the opportunity to directly influence the well-being of Floridians by ensuring that unsafe practitioners are quickly removed from practice. Your Specific Responsibilities: - Review and prioritize urgent cases to assess if a licensee poses an immediate danger to public health and safety. - Work closely with investigators, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies to gather critical information. - Draft Emergency Orders that restrict or suspend healthcare licenses in cases of immediate risk. - Present cases to healthcare licensing boards' probable cause panels. - Represent the Department in administrative hearings and circuit courts, working towards fair resolutions that protect the public. - Independently manage litigation, from preparation and discovery to hearings and post-hearing pleadings. - Respond to public records requests and inquiries from attorneys and agencies on active cases. Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school. - Florida Bar membership. - At least one year of legal experience.
