As a **Senior Audiovisual Design Consultant** , you'll be at the forefront of shaping a better world, contributing to the design of exceptional spaces for clients ranging from renowned concert halls and recording studios to innovative corporate offices, and cutting-edge educational institutions. This position can be worked out of the **Seattle** or **Los Angeles** offices. **Is this role right for you?** **Conceptualization & Design** + Develop comprehensive audiovisual and broadcast system designs for a wide range of projects including enterprise, studios, media and entertainment, broadcast facilities, live event production spaces + Create detailed system diagrams, plans, details, and reports, and technical specifications + Conduct workshops and site assessments to gather information and understand client requirements + Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other project stakeholders for seamless system integration into the built environment **Project Management** + Manage the design and construction administration phases of projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and client expectations + Work in conjunction with the Project Director to ensure commercial success across projects + Ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams to deliver quality work on time **Professional Development** + Keep abreast of the latest advancements in broadcast technology, industry best practices, and emerging trends + Attend industry conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills + Conduct research and development on new technologies and their potential applications in audiovisual, broadcast, and media/entertainment environments **Client Relationships** + Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and priorities + Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences **Is this role right for you?** + In-depth knowledge of audiovisual and broadcast equipment, technologies, and industry standards (e.g., SMPTE, EBU, AVIXA) + 7 or more years of experience designing audiovisual, broadcast, and entertainment systems + Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and other design tools + Project Management skills including excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills + Ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and vendors + Problem-solving & Troubleshooting, ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues including a deep understanding of system configurations used across our specialty commissioning services. + Manufacturer certifications (e.g. Biamp, Crestron, Dante, Extron, QSC, etc.) a plus + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Information Technology, TV/Film/Radio, Technical Theatre, or related field a plus + Control systems programming experience a plus + Candidates with additional experience in acoustics, experience design, live sound, production, smart buildings, digital buildings, and/or telecommunications design are particularly encouraged to apply Please note that all applicants must apply directly via the job portal. If this role is not quite what you are looking for, but you are interested in other opportunities for a future with purpose, please sign up to our   is where you will be kept up to date with roles suitable for you to shape a better world. **The Benefits – What we offer you** At Arup, we care about each member’s success, so we can grow together. Options for alternative schedules and the ability to work outside of the office for a portion of your workweek are available **Hiring Range** - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Seattle is $100,000 is $140,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
