Senior Automation and Robotics Manufacturing Test Engineer

This is a specialized role which requires physical interaction with hardware equipment in a simulated data center environment, utilizing Google labs, power, and safety equipment. Regular development and processing of engineering hardware must be performed on site.
Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
+ 3 years of experience designing and testing multiple subsystems and systems (e.g., software, robotics algorithms, electrical systems, mechanical systems, control systems).
+ 3 years of experience with industrial electrical control system components and system design, and regional industrial and safety standards (e.g. ISO, NFPA, RIA, ANSI, ETC).
Preferred qualifications:
+ 5 years of experience with the process of developing products, including identifying issues and considerations for delivering a product.
+ Experience understanding of systems architecture, constraints, and optimal resource configurations in order to optimize system testability, performance, reliability, and cost.
+ Experience working with PLCs, Servo Drives, VFDs and other industrial components and programming robots, PLCs and industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence or OpenCV).
+ Experience developing, maintaining, and evolving products, including engineering knowledge, as well as common issues and considerations for delivering, updating, or setting a product.

Our team is a rapid iteration group focused on defining and stewarding automation standards for Google, designing, building, and deploying the right amount of automation capability for our partner teams, and providing engineering experience and leadership when developing future roadmaps toward optimal use of automation throughout the manufacturing, supply chain, and data center facilities that support Google as it scales the fleet.
In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated manufacturing processes within the data center. You will be responsible for project management, process improvement, and technical leadership.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including workflow analysis and equipment layout.
+ Manage supplier quality issues and drive corrective actions.
+ Lead measurement system analysis (MSA) and Gage Roles and Responsibilities studies.
+ Develop and implement supplier quality assurance plans, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
+ Conduct supplier design reviews and process verification activities.
