Senior Automation Architect

We are now looking for a Senior System Architect to join the R&D Team in Denmark. If you share our passion for smart technologies and a sustainable future, you might be the one!

 

The preferred location for the position is in Hørsholm, Denmark. We offer a possibility to hybrid work.

 

What will you be doing? 
As the new Senior System Architect, you will play a central role in designing, implementing, and optimizing current and future solutions that improve control, efficiency and reduce costs for ANCS' customers. The team has come a long way already, but there is much still to be done, so you will have ample opportunity to influence the architecture and the products that will be promoted in the future.

 

Some of your responsibilities: 

Update, develop and maintain technology strategies and roadmaps for various areas and systems e.g. Integration management Identify areas where performance can be enhanced, and economic and environmental costs can be reduced through automation. Design and implement advanced maritime solutions, covering automation and navigation systems on all types of vessels. Collaborate with different departments to ensure solutions meet business requirements Own the overall technical solution and be responsible for system design, including choice of new technologies and tools, efficiency, maintainability and timing. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of automation solutions and propose improvements. Do mentorship to junior automation specialists.

 

You will be working with international development teams and suppliers so a high level of proficiency in English is vital.

 

You will shine in this role if you have: 

A Bachelors’ degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Architecture/development experience working with Operational Technology (OT) and automation of industrial operations, e.g. from maritime or other OT sectors like production, transportation or energy/utilities sectors Experience in programming languages such as C++ and/or C#, Python, Power Shell. Knowledgeable about IT/OT networks as well as knowledge about operating systems, PLC’s and database technologies Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Jenkins, Ansible). Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset with a top-down approach. Excellent teamwork and communication abilities e.g. you are able to present complex technical problems and solutions for technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Bonus Qualifications: 

Experience with Maritime/Class certifications. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Experience with cloud integrations

ANCS is a global leader in innovative hardware and software technologies for marine navigation and automation, with solutions including integrated navigation and automation systems, advanced sensors enhancing safety and situational awareness, and dynamic positioning systems enabling precise vessel station keeping.

 

The team in Hørsholm specialize in developing and supporting electronic equipment for maritime automation solutions. There are currently 70+ team members in Denmark, and they cooperate closely with sister sites in Hamburg (Navigation) and Drammen (Navy+Cruiseship automation).
 

In December 2024, Technology group Wärtsilä announced the divestment of ANCS to the Swedish investment company Solix Group AB. Subject to approvals, the transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
