Senior Automation Controls Engineer (Pittsburgh, PA)
Pay: $90,000 - $125,000 annual salary Expiration Date of Job Posting: Continuous POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Automation Controls Engineer is an experienced PC/HMI programmer with excellent communication skills and knowledge of process control systems in several industries. This individual must be able to perform independently or as a member of a project team. This position will be responsible for the electrical design, programming and start-up of CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems, facility cleaning equipment and chemical dispensing and application equipment. The engineer will also be required to provide accurate and timely customer service assistance on previously installed systems. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
+ 5+ years PLC/HMI programming experience.
+ Valid driver’s license with a good MVR required.
+ Experience in the Oil and Gas, Mining or Food & Beverage industry.
+ Control panel design and AutoCAD experience is required.
+ Previous experience in industrial process control working with ABB, Rockwell (AB), Siemens, PLC/HMI programming.
+ Familiarity with electrical schematics and process flow diagrams.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to travel approximately 35%.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Develop PLC programs and HMI with or without existing templates.
+ Create site specific electrical drawings.
+ Develop PLC/HMI related equipment documentation.
+ Perform equipment check-out.
+ Interface with Sales and Project Management teams.
+ Coordinate project activities with other Engineers, outside vendors/contractors and customers.
+ Produce clear and timely documentation including trip reports and project updates.
+ Support of existing on site equipment. Includes phone and remote technical assistance/troubleshooting for installed systems.
+ Start-up and customer training.
+ Perform site surveys to identify and document existing customer equipment and processes.
+ Assist with development of new offerings and updates of existing offerings.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Adhere to agreed-upon schedules and budgets.
+ Effectively manage time, follow directions and complete work within specified time.
+ Assist with training.
+ Keep work area clean, organized, and hazard free.
+ Maintain a sound understanding of all industry safety norms and regulations.
+ Checks and responds to all company communications on all scheduled workdays, including voice mail, emails, and text messages. Makes sure that old voice mails are cleared regularly so that the mailbox does not get full.
+ Complies with all applicable Company safety requirements.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK CONDITIONS:
+ Able to work in different working environments, including extreme weather environments, and independently in remote areas.
+ Able to stand for long periods and endure a lot of physical stamina due to loading and unloading work.
+ Able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 60 pounds.
+ Able to bend over, kneel down, reach upward, and pull equipment and products from ground level to heights being worked at.
+ Able to perform general office administrative activities of copying, filing, faxing, and using the telephone.
+ Able to climb stairs; work at heights, or confined spaces.
+ Maintain regular and on-time attendance. Position is 40 hours per week but may exceed 40 hours per week.
+ May require occasional travel by air or vehicle to out of state locations when requested by Company. Travel by personal vehicle to work sites over a large geographic area.
